"The Waterman
Stone" piece of music that has been commissioned by the Friends
of the Graham Sutherland Collection to be played at the opening
of Oriel y Parc by the St Davids Guitar Group. The composition
gathers its influences from the surrounding landscape of the St
Davids Peninsular. The piece is also inspired by the colours,

The Friends of
The Graham Sutherland Collection
The "Friends" decided to commemorate the
opening of Oriel y Parc Landscape Gallery by commissioning a
piece of music for a Guitar group. The piece celebrates the
return to Pembrokeshire of works from the Sutherland Collection
left to Pembrokeshire from whence came their inspiration.
The music commissioned from James Crisp evokes not only the
landscape of Pembrokeshire, but also Graham Sutherland's
personal vision of this land.
The music composition and its performance has been made possible
by the generous contributions of many of the "Friends",
businesses and individuals living and working in St Davids to
whom we would like to express our grateful thanks. We record
their patronage by listing their names alphabetically below.

The Glass Presentation
Piece
The commission for the
presentation piece to the First Minister, Rhodri Morgan to
commemorate the opening of the Oriel y Parc, Landscape Gallery,
came from the Vice Chairman of the Friends of the Graham
Sutherland Collection, Rod Williams. A further piece similar,
but different in some aspects is under way for presentation to
the Gallery.
Both Commissions were asked to reflect the Pembrokeshire
landscape and Graham Sutherland`s vision of it`s colours,
textures and forms.
